A German distributor has recently faced a supply shortage due to difficulties procuring Nvidia's new generation of graphics cards. Aside from a small quantity of RTX 5070s, high-end graphics cards are now extremely scarce. The retailer stated that he cannot obtain any other models besides the €20,000 RTX 5070.

According to foreign media reports, the supplier has officially notified them via email that due to the difficult market conditions, they can only order five RTX 5070 graphics cards at a time. The higher-end RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090 are no longer available through this channel and require alternative sources. Amazon Business has also reported difficulties in consistently supplying Blackwell graphics cards to its stores. Some suppliers have even cancelled existing orders, and even if other sales channels still have inventory, prices may increase significantly. Some RTX 5090 models are already approaching $5,000 in the US. Retailers in Japan and other regions have also begun implementing purchase limits on the RTX 50 series.

The price of the Nvidia RTX 5090 has soared to over $4,000 (approximately 28,000+ RMB), setting a new all-time high.

According to foreign media reports, both Nvidia and AMD plan to continue raising graphics card prices monthly. Overseas netizens commented: "Graphics card prices now exceed the cost of your first car!" Others joked: "The money that could buy a used Honda Civic only gives you a 15% increase in frame rate."

Do you think this is just a graphics card frenzy, or just scalper hype? You'd be sorely mistaken. Behind this lies a real phenomenon: AI is consuming global chip production capacity!
